Technical and Necessary But Boring
TAN-B2
Restaurants
I really love my restaurant analogies...There are certain necessary steps to open a restaurant:
- Registering a business; decide on a business form
- Finding and leasing a great location
- Building on the lot - arranging for utilities, etc.
- Ordering the basics
- Tables, chairs
- Kitchen equipment
- Cutlery
- Etc...
But this is so boring...
The fun creative stuff is arranging the tables, decorating the interior, picking out the menu (Southern BBQ? French cuisine? ) and meeting/greeting customers.
Ultimately, the instructions to your restaurant consultant are "just set it up."
Incorporating
Another analogy can be found in the process of incorporating.A new business will explain to the attorney certain basic technical information:
- The name of the business and the owners
- Address
- Shares of Stock
- By-Laws
- Etc...
But this is so technical...
The fun creative part is contacting supplies & companies, recruiting staff and assigning tasks. This is unique to the owners...
Ultimately, the instructions to your attorney are "just set it up."
Establishing a web presences has the same two steps.
First, the necessary stuff, generally technical, is boring ~ but somebody's got to do it.
The rest, the creative part, is fun. What actual words (content) do you want present?
I'm really good that the first category. I can do all the TAN stuff, then give you a WordPress userid and a login.
